Canada hearing
2007
On 24 April 2007, the Eminent Jurists Panel held its public hearing Toronto, and on 25 April in Ottawa. The Panel held private meetings with representatives of the Canadian government on 26 April.

The Canada hearings, co-organized by the ICJ and its Canadian section, are the thirteenth in a series of hearings held around the world by the Panel as part of its global inquiry on the compatibility of counter-terrorism measures with international human rights law and international humanitarian law.
During two days of public hearings, Justice Chaskalson and Professor Goldman heard from lawyers, academics, national and international human rights organisations, Muslim and Arab communities’ organizations and persons directly affected by Canada’s counter-terrorism measures since 9/11.
The Toronto and Ottawa hearings were webcasted on mms://media.osgoode.yorku.ca/icoj.
